What it is
An Android player for the albums you already have. Powered by the proprietary 64-bit StriFonic Audio Engine, the album is the folder on storage — This device, a network share (SMB / SFTP / WebDAV), or any UPnP / DLNA Audio server. Same pattern everywhere. Covers and year come from that folder. No internet art overrides.
Local library and internet radio use separate engines. Radio is a station directory plus each station’s own stream, not a bundled music service.
Formats
StriFonic Audio plays original files without forced conversion whenever possible:
- Lossless & Hi-Res PCM — FLAC, WavPack (WV up to 768 kHz / 32-bit), WAV, AIFF, ALAC (M4A), APE, TAK.
- DSD (Direct Stream Digital) — DSF and DFF (DSD64 to DSD512).
- SACD ISO — Disc images are read and listed as albums directly.
- CUE Sheets & Gapless — External and embedded CUE sheets with seamless, gapless transitions between tracks.
- Lossy — MP3, AAC, OGG, Opus, WMA.
Playback
- On this device — Exclusive USB is the DAC path when the phone can claim that DAC (Native / DoP bit-perfect on that path). It depends on the DAC and on the phone’s USB host — not every combination works. Phone speaker, headset, and Bluetooth are ordinary Android output, not Exclusive. Phone Shared always stays available.
- Play to — UPnP MediaRenderer on this Wi-Fi (streamer). 24-bit files at 192 kHz and below stay the original file. 32-bit and anything above 192 kHz convert to 24-bit / 96 kHz. DSD and SACD ISO convert to 24-bit / 88.2 kHz, or 48 kHz when that rate is selected. Not a TV Cast path.
- Cast — TV, Chromecast, Nest. Google Cast only, with the app skin on the TV (Navy, Noir, Wine, Moss).
Free vs Pro
Core library features and standard playback are free. Advanced output paths include a trial period:
- Free Forever — Folder browsing, Collection management, Phone/Bluetooth playback, and Internet Radio.
- Pro Features — USB Exclusive bit-perfect mode, UPnP Play to (streamers), and Google Cast.
- 30-Minute Trial — Pro features include 30 minutes of real playback time so you can verify compatibility with your DAC or streamer before purchase.
