Who we are
This policy is for the Android app StriFonic Audio, published by BoLumasa (bolumasa.com).
Contact: info.bolumasa@gmail.com
The app has no user accounts. There is nothing to delete on a BoLumasa server, because we do not run an account or music-cloud service for this app.
BoLumasa is the controller for the little personal data this app can involve (the contact mailbox on this site, and any message you send us). On the phone, processing is done on-device to run the player you installed. Optional network features (shares, Audio server, Play to, Cast, radio) run only when you use them, toward the host or service you chose — not toward a BoLumasa backend.
What this app does
StriFonic Audio is a hi-fi album player. The album is the folder on storage (this device, a network share, or an audio server). Covers come from that folder. The app does not fetch album art from the internet and does not use DIDL / ContentDirectory artwork ahead of folder files.
We do not sell data. We do not show ads. We do not ship analytics, crash reporters, or advertising IDs.
Data that stays on your device
The following stay in the app’s private storage on the phone or tablet unless you copy them yourself:
- Settings (output route, Exclusive DSD mode, buffers, ReplayGain, equalizer, skin).
- The folder you picked as This device library root.
- Collection albums, saved tracks, and playlists (titles, artists, file URIs, cover URIs, technical tags you already have on disk).
- A local search catalog of your library.
- Radio favourites.
- Last-used Play to device name and address on your LAN.
- Network-share login details you type in (host, share, username, password, protocol). These are stored in app preferences so the share can reopen. They are not sent to BoLumasa.
Uninstalling the app removes this app storage. Android backup (if you back up the phone to your Google account) may include app preferences, including share logins, because the app allows Android backup. You can exclude the app from device backup in Android settings if you do not want that.
Your music / your archive
Audio files, CUE sheets, SACD ISO files, sidecar notes, and folder images are yours (or the owner of that storage). BoLumasa does not own, host, edit, or police that archive. The app does not add, delete, or rewrite those files. It reads them to play, show the album, and fill the tech panel from the folder. It does not upload your library to BoLumasa. It does not fetch internet covers.
Titles, artists, and cover paths that appear in Collection or playlists are copies of names already on your storage, kept only in app preferences on the device. That is not a BoLumasa music catalog.
This device
With your permission the app reads audio on the device and the folder tree you grant (storage / media access). USB Exclusive uses the USB audio device you attach. That path is local to the device. It is not a network upload.
SMB, SFTP, and similar shares
If you add a share, the app connects to your host with the credentials you saved, to list folders and read original files. Traffic goes device ↔ your server. BoLumasa is not in the middle.
Audio server (UPnP / DLNA)
The app discovers ContentDirectory servers on your Wi-Fi (multicast / SSDP) and plays the server’s original file URL when one exists. It talks to the server you pick, not to a BoLumasa catalog. If that server offers no original file, the app does not invent audio bytes.
Play to
Play to is UPnP AVTransport to a renderer on the same Wi-Fi (for example a streamer). The phone may run a local HTTP server so that renderer can pull the file or a converted stream on the LAN. That audio is not sent to BoLumasa or to Google Cast.
Google Cast
Cast is a separate sink (TV, Chromecast, Nest) using the Google Cast SDK / Play services, not Play to. When you Cast, Google and the Cast device receive the session and the media URL or stream the app prepares for that sink. Google’s terms and privacy policy apply to Cast. Some formats are converted on the phone for Cast; that conversion is for playback, not for a BoLumasa cloud.
Internet radio
The station list comes from the radio-browser.info API (a public directory). Station streams are not packaged in the app; playback opens the station’s own URL. The app sends a descriptive User-Agent (StriFonicAudio/1.0), as that API requires.
The “Local Stations” folder uses your device language/region, and if that is missing, the mobile network or SIM country code, only to pick a country list. That code is used on-device to query the radio directory. It is not sent to BoLumasa.
radio-browser.info and each station operator see a normal internet connection (including IP address), the same as a browser would.
Permissions (plain language)
- Internet / network state — shares, audio servers, radio, Cast, Play to on the LAN.
- Wi-Fi multicast / nearby Wi-Fi devices — find UPnP servers and renderers, and Cast devices. Not used to advertise your location.
- Read audio / storage — This device library.
- USB host — optional Exclusive DAC.
- Modify audio settings — playback routing and Exclusive.
- Notifications and media playback service — keep playback in the background and show what is playing.
- Wake lock — keep playback from sleeping while you listen.
Your rights
We do not hold a copy of your library. To stop on-device processing: uninstall the app, or delete shares / Collection inside the app. Email info.bolumasa@gmail.com if you sent us a message and want it erased from that inbox. Where GDPR or similar law applies, you may also ask about access, correction, restriction, or complaint to your data-protection authority. We have no account-deletion URL because there is no account.
Children
The app is a general music player, not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. There is no sign-up.
Changes
If the app’s data practices change, this page will be updated and the date above will change. The live URL for Play Console is https://bolumasa.com/privacy.html.
